Therapeutic benefits of maintaining CDK4/6 inhibitors and incorporating CDK2 inhibitors beyond progression in breast cancer
Last Updated: Wednesday, June 10, 2026
Researchers used preclinical HR+ human breast cancer models with acquired resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors to demonstrate the therapeutic benefits of maintaining CDK4/6 inhibitor therapy in patients who have developed resistance. They found that the use of CDK4/6 inhibitors, either alone or combined with CDK2 inhibitors, slows the growth of resistant tumors by prolonging G1 progression.
