Risk of QTc prolongation, and major cardiovascular adverse events associated with CDK4/6 inhibitors in hormone receptor-positive HER2-negative breast cancer - A systematic review and meta-analysis
Last Updated: Wednesday, July 22, 2026
Researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis assessing QTc prolongation and other cardiovascular adverse eventsĀ in patients with HR+ HER2- breast cancer receiving CDK4/6 inhibitors plus endocrine therapy versus those receiving endocrine therapy alone. They concluded that cardiovascular monitoring should be agent specific rather than class wide, as results suggested that ribociclib increases the risk of QTc prolongation and abemaciclib carries a high risk of venous thromboembolism.
