Evaluating the efficacy of neoadjuvant endocrine therapy in HER2-low versus HER2-negative breast cancer

Last Updated: Thursday, September 10, 2026

A retrospective cohort study of 3,808 women evaluated whether HER2-low status is associated with improved clinical response to neoadjuvant endocrine therapy among patients with early-stage HR+ breast cancer. Results showed that age, duration of neoadjuvant endocrine therapy, and HER2 status were significant predictors of any response to neoadjuvant endocrine therapy, supporting the concept of HER2-low disease as a distinct therapeutic entity.
