Real-world study of treatment patterns and outcomes in patients with HR+ breast cancer after progression on CDK4/6 inhibitor therapy

Researchers analyzed real-world treatment patterns and outcomes in 1,826 patients with advanced HR+ metastatic breast cancer who received systemic therapy following progression on CDK4/6 inhibitors. They found that after progression on CDK4/6 inhibitors, 43% of patients received chemotherapy, 38% received targeted therapy, 12% received endocrine therapy alone, and 7% received investigational agents; however, there was no significant difference in progression-free survival across post–CDK4/6 inhibitor treatment types.
