The association of Agent Orange exposure with the progression of monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance to multiple myeloma: A population-based study of Vietnam War era veterans

Last Updated: Monday, February 26, 2024

Agent Orange (AO) exposure is linked with an increased risk of multiple myeloma due to the contaminant 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD). Researchers looked at US veterans to determine whether TCDD/AO exposure increases the risk of progression of monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) multiple myeloma. Data will also inform progression risk in patients diagnosed with MGUS with occupational TCDD exposure from herbicides and pesticides.
