Graft-versus-host disease and impact on relapse in myelofibrosis undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

Data from a study of patients with myelofibrosis undergoing their first or second allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation show that development of acute GVHD grade II and moderate chronic GVHD were both associated with a reduced risk for relapse after transplantation without increased risk for non-relapse mortality. Additionally, acute GVHD grade IV was associated with high non-relapse mortality.
