High-fat diet alters immune cells in spleen, kidney and tumor and impacts the volume growth of renal cell carcinoma
Last Updated: Friday, October 27, 2023
Researchers studied the effect of high-fat diets (HFDs) on the changes of immune cell groups in spleens, normal kidneys and tumors, mainly revealing the changes of T cells, B cells and NK cells, and further preliminarily exploring the changes of NK cell phenotype. Since renal cell carcinoma is strongly associated with abnormal or excessive fat deposition in the body, it's important to understand how HFDs affect the development and course of RCC by causing immunological dysfunction, with data pointing the way to treating individuals with obese renal cell carcinoma.
