The value of bone marrow, liver, and spleen imaging in diagnosis, prognostication, and follow-up monitoring of myeloproliferative neoplasms: a systematic review

Based on a review of the use of bone marrow (BM), liver, and spleen imaging for diagnosis, prognostication, and response monitoring among patients with JAK2/CALR/MPL mutation-related MPNs, researchers noted that MRI may be helpful in evaluating BM fat content among patients with myelofibrosis and BM cellularity in ET/PV, while 18-fluorodeoxyglucose and 18-fluorothymidine PET/CT may help evaluate BM fibrosis.
