The predictive value of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio in patients with polycythemia vera at the time of initial diagnosis for thrombotic events

Last Updated: Tuesday, November 1, 2022

Data from a study of 170 patients with polycythemia vera showed that neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is an independent risk factor for thrombotic events (p = 0.030) and for progression to future thrombotic events (p = 0.025). Further, NLR demonstrated greater diagnostic efficacy related to progression of future thrombotic events compared with history of prior thrombosis, JAK2V617F mutation, age, and fibrinogen level.
