Risk of Inflammatory Bowel Disease in Patients with Chronic Myeloproliferative Neoplasms: A Danish Nationwide Cohort Study

Patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are 2.4 times more likely to be diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) than people without MPNs, according to a study of 8000 patients with a median follow-up of 5.5 years. Results showed that MPN patients were 2.6 times more likely to develop ulcerative colitis, 2.4 times more likely to develop Crohn disease, and 40% more likely to have been previously diagnosed with IBD.
