A systematic review of antithrombotic treatment of venous thromboembolism in patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms

A systematic review and meta-analysis of 10 nonrandomized trials involving 1,295 patients with MPNs with a history of venous thromboembolism found that recurrence risk may be lowest among those patients who received anticoagulation combined with cytoreduction therapy. The authors noted, however, that the trials studied had a high risk of bias, which may have led to inconsistent or imprecise findings.
