Cardioprotective effect of pegfilgrastim on chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity in preoperative chemotherapy for breast cancer

A retrospective review investigated the effects of pegfilgrastim on preoperative chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity among patients with breast cancer. Results showed that cardiac function did not change with chemotherapy in the pegfilgrastim group, but the ejection fraction with chemotherapy in the non-pegfilgrastim group decreased significantly.
