Awareness of genomic testing among patients with breast cancer in Europe

Last Updated: Thursday, May 15, 2025

A survey initiated by Cancer Patients Europe looked at awareness of and access to genomic testing among patients with breast cancer in Europe. Responses from 566 women with current or previous HR+/HER2- breast cancer who were potentially eligible for genomic testing indicated that 84.6% felt underinformed about genomic testing, and only 24.6% underwent it. These data indicate that awareness of and access to genomic testing is an unmet need in this disease space.
