Prognostic implications of red blood cell distribution width to albumin ratio in myelofibrosis: A 10 year multicenter and retrospective study
Last Updated: Thursday, September 18, 2025
A multi-center retrospective study of 504 patients demonstrated that the red cell distribution width to albumin ratio (RAR) is an independent predictor of poor survival in myelofibrosis and is associated with higher risk of leukemic transformation and death. Incorporating RAR into the DIPSS-plus score improved prognostic accuracy and yielded a refined nomogram that offers a cost-effective tool for risk stratification, particularly valuable in resource-limited settings.
