Prevalence and impact of diabetes on survival of patients with multiple myeloma in different racial groups

Multiple myeloma is twice as common in black individuals compared with in white individuals, and diabetes mellitus disproportionately affects black patients. This retrospective clinical study looked at 5383 patients with multiple myeloma, 15% of whom also had diabetes, examining the correlation of diabetes and multiple myeloma in the context of race and in vivo mechanisms.
