Patient-reported adverse events and early treatment discontinuation among patients with multiple myeloma
Last Updated: Tuesday, May 14, 2024
This survey study of 1058 participants with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma looked at whether a patient-reported outcomes question, item 5 from the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General General Physical Wellbeing Scale, was associated with early treatment discontinuation due to adverse events. Reviewers found that that brief, single-question assessments accurately reflect patients’ ability to tolerate treatment and may be an efficient way to assess risk for treatment discontinuation.Â
