The clinical impact of JAK2V617F allele burden in Philadelphia-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms

Last Updated: Wednesday, November 1, 2023

According to a long-term follow-up analysis of 228 patients with Philadelphia-negative MPNs, high JAK2V617F allele burden is associated with more severe disease in PV and ET. In PV, high JAK2V617F allele burden was associated with a trend towards inferior OS. In ET, high JAK2V617F allele burden was associated with lower hemoglobin and hematocrit levels, higher lactate dehydrogenase levels, greater spleen size, increased bleeding, and increased death rate.
