Population-based long-term prognosis analysis of subcutaneous gastrointestinal stromal tumors
Last Updated: Monday, October 28, 2024
This study analyzed the long-term prognosis of patients with subcutaneous gastrointestinal stromal tumors (scGISTs) using the SEER database, revealing that scGIST patients have worse overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) compared to GIST patients. Surgical intervention significantly improved 5-year OS and CSS rates in scGIST patients. Age, surgical status, and mitotic rate were identified as key risk factors influencing outcomes in scGISTs.
