Mesenchymal tumor management: Integrating surgical and non-surgical strategies in different clinical scenarios

Last Updated: Tuesday, September 24, 2024

Soft tissue sarcomas (STSs) are rare cancers with surgical resection as the primary. This review looks at the role of non-surgical treatments in managing STS, including their use as a bridge to surgery, as alternatives to surgery, for improving surgical outcomes, and for non-curative treatment when surgery is not possible. Reviewers examined the use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors in gastrointestinal stromal tumors and hypofractionated radiotherapy in soft tissue sarcomas.
