Endoscopic vs laparoscopic resection for gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors: Oncological outcomes
Last Updated: Monday, March 23, 2026
This study compared endoscopic and laparoscopic resections for localized gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors. Endoscopic resection demonstrated shorter operation times, reduced blood loss, and faster recovery. Crucially, both surgical methods achieved comparable R0 resection and 3-year survival rates. Because the surgical approach did not affect mid-term prognosis, endoscopic treatment is a viable minimally invasive option for carefully selected patients.
