Genomic complexity is associated with epigenetic regulator mutations and poor prognosis in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
Last Updated: Thursday, September 23, 2021
Genomic complexity may be associated with poor prognosis and poor response to standard immunochemotherapy among patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, according to results from a recent study. Specifically, a high mutation number was correlated with significantly poorer clinical outcomes among patients with germinal center B-cell-like DLBCL who had wild-type TP53. A high mutation number was also linked with lower PD-1 expression in T cells and PD-L1 expression in macrophages, suggesting that high mutation numbers may play a positive role in immune responses.
