Results of VOICE: A global survey of disease-specific knowledge and perspectives of real-world patients with CLL
In an effort to guide appropriately targeted patient education, this online survey study aimed to evaluate the needs and knowledge of patients with CLL around the world. A total of 377 patients who had received > 1 line of therapy from 5 continents and 12 countries responded. Among survey respondents, 90% stated that they relied on their physicians for information regarding CLL and treatment. Importantly, while 78% of patients with CLL said that they want to be involved in treatment decisions, only 44% of patients reported actively participating in treatment decisions. Patients with higher risk features of their CLL reported that they prefer oral medications (78%), fixed-duration treatments (69%), and outpatient treatment (91%). Importantly, only 19% of respondents reported awareness that CLL increased risk of infections.
