Impact of poverty and neighborhood opportunity on outcomes for children treated with CD19-directed CAR T-cell therapy

Although children living in poverty experience increased relapse and death from newly diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia, little is known about the influence of socioeconomic poverty and social determinants on outcomes of CAR T-cell therapy. This study found that CAR T-cell therapy resulted in equal remission and survival for children with relapsed or refractory ALL, regardless of household poverty level or community-based determinants.
