Quality of life trajectories in children aged 2-4 years with acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Last Updated: Tuesday, February 25, 2025
This study investigates the quality of life in toddlers aged 2–4 years with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in Vietnam. Researchers used the PedsQL Generic Core Scales and Cancer Module to collect proxy reports from 104 participants, totaling 152 repeated measurements. The study found that physical, emotional, and social scores improved over the first three years post-diagnosis. However, anxiety about medical procedures was frequent in the first 1.5 years but gradually improved. Higher proxy education correlated with lower emotional domain scores, while fathers as proxies reported higher emotional domain scores but lower worry about medical procedures in their children.
